First Church of Christ, Scientist, Dee Why is a branch of The First Church of Christ, Scientist known as The Mother Church, which was established in Boston MA in the United States in 1879 to “reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing”.
10am Sunday – Church and Sunday School
7:30pm Wednesday – Testimony Meeting
We have been a presence in Dee Why for more than seventy years. Originally located on Pittwater Road, we moved in 1978 to our current address in Howard Avenue.
Our Sunday services are held every week, and children up to 20 years are welcomed into the Sunday School at the same time.
Each Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly focuses on a particular subject, such as “God,” “Mortals and Immortals,”, “Love,” and “God the Preserver of Man.” There are 26 subjects in all, each appearing twice a year. The passages from the Bible and Science and Health are different each time a subject appears, providing fresh insights and an ongoing course of Bible study.
We also hold Testimony Meetings on Wednesdays when readings from the textbooks are delivered on various topics pertaining to issues of the day, followed by testimonies from members of the congregation on how they have been helped and healed through the teachings of Christian Science.
Everyone is welcome to attend our services and our meetings.
